Michelle Reynolds
PhD student
I am PhD candidate based in Art History and Visual Culture and English at the University of Exeter, co-supervised by Dr Patricia Zakreski and Professor John Plunkett. My PhD project looks at the relationship between the emergence of the New Woman and the professionalism of women illustrators in the commercial art marketplace. I am also interested in the New Woman’s visual representation and how women illustrators contributed to this representation. More broadly, my research interests include women artists, print and exhibition culture, photography, and fashion. I am currently a Postgraduate Representative for the Centre for Victorian Studies at the University of Exeter.
